One Year Later

On Monday D and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary. The time has gone by so quickly, but so much has happened in the past year! Here are some of the highlights:

We moved into our house.
We attended 3 weddings of close friends.
We celebrated both of our grandmothers' 90th birthdays.
We hosted both of our families for Thanksgiving.
We celebrated our first married Christmas.
We found out we're having a baby.
Our 6th nephew was born.

We watched th video of our wedding on Sunday. It was done by a family friend rather than a videographer and was fun to watch. During the middle of our ceremony one of the groomsmen fainted and it's pretty funny to watch the reaction of the reader as she hears the thud of him falling. The tape cuts out at that point and comes back a few minutes later to the soloist singing "One Hand, One Heart."

We were thinking about going to Vermont for an overnight to celebrate our anniversary but decided to stay home so that 1) we could give Mercury her antibiotics (she got in a cat fight) and 2) the painters could come and paint our master bedroom. Mercury unfortunatley still isn't quite herself (she's acting a little strange, but is physically fine), but the master bedroom is just about done. All that still needs to be done is the installation of the hardwood flooring. I'll be sure to post about the whole project and show the before and after photos. The bedroom project involved ripping out a mauve carpet, demoing the old closet, building a big new walk-in closet, painting the walls a new color, adding crown molding, and putting in hardwood flooring. I'll be so excited to finally sleep in the room (not to mention putting everything away in the big new closet).

I was trying to hard to have husband get our bedroom done before baby was here...but the laminate flooring is still sitting in boxes in the kitchen and the walls are still the hideous green his ex-wife painted them 10 years ago. Maybe in the months to come. :) Good job getting it done before baby!
